OUR STORY
Chestnut Writers’ founding editor, Helen, developed the appreciation for language at the age of ten. She picked up her first novel and fell in love with reading. Since then she has acquired bilingual abilities in English and Chinese. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley. She furthermore spent a year in Peking University and learned mandarin and simplified Chinese. In the past fifteen years, she has written and translated extensively. The main subjects of her work concerned history, law, social science and Christianity. Chestnut Writers is a new chapter in her life, where she merges passion into vocation.
